Global IT firm FPT has announced plans to establish an education representative office in Japan. This strategic move underscores FPT’s commitment to cultivating a highly skilled workforce and fostering collaboration in training, scientific research, and student exchange programs between Vietnam, Japan, and the broader Northeast Asia region.

Located within FPT’s branches in Japan, the new office will enable the IT firm to expand its training programs, student exchange initiatives, and cultural activities. These efforts aim to enhance educational experiences both domestically and internationally. They will provide Vietnamese students with opportunities to engage with Japan’s global academic landscape while also allowing international students to access Vietnam’s educational ecosystem.

FPT will also leverage its robust network of partners in Japan and its alumni community to provide work and internship opportunities, support graduates in pursuing advanced education, and enhance career prospects. To encourage greater participation in these programs, FPT offers Japanese language training as a second language for IT students.

"This office will act as a key hub for fostering international collaboration, with Japan playing a central role. Our primary focus will be human resource development, scientific research, and student exchange programs. With FPT's significant investments in AI and semiconductor chip design, Japan has emerged as a strategic partner and an essential market. This initiative represents an opportunity to drive innovation, strengthen partnerships, and achieve meaningful progress in these pivotal areas," Dr. Le Truong Tung, Chairman of the Board at FPT University, FPT Corporation, pledged.

Chu Thi Thanh Ha, Chairwoman of FPT Software, FPT Corporation, shared: “The opening of FPT’s education representative office marks a significant milestone in our commitment to providing high-quality IT training and human resources. Given Japan’s stringent requirements for IT engineers, I am confident that the partnership between FPT’s IT services and training sectors in Vietnam and Japan will greatly contribute to developing top-tier talents. This also highlights the strength and synergy of FPT’s global presence.”

FPT has currently formed partnerships with 180 educational institutions across 40 countries. Since 2009, the company has hosted international students from Japan, Germany, France, Portugal, Thailand, North Korea, Myanmar, Brunei, and other nations, allowing them to engage in academic programs, student exchanges, and cultural activities. In 2023, more than 3,500 students participated in FPT’s international experiences. Additionally, FPT runs an international student development center based at its main campus in Da Nang.
