FPT Software Chairwoman Mdm. Chu Thi Thanh Ha was recently recognized with the Hall of Honor Awards by the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa’s Shidler College of Business. She stands out as the only Asian female leader among this year’s inductees, honored for her exceptional business leadership and dedication to social contributions.

The 31st Hall of Honor Awards Ceremony took place on October 10 in Hawaii, United States

Since her appointment in early 2020, she has led FPT Software to reach significant records, including surpassing USD $1B in revenue in 2023, entering the Top 50 IT Services Companies in Asia, and being named the largest IT services company in 2024 Fortune 500 Southeast Asia while setting the stage for new growth, particularly in AI, automotive, digital transformation, and green transformation.

"I am honored to be inducted into the Hall of Honor Award 2024. The insights, experience, and peer networks gained at Shidler College of Business, Hawaii University, have assisted and will continue to support me in propelling FPT Software toward becoming a world-class IT leader. Our mission goes beyond delivering cutting-edge technology to clients worldwide; it is also about nurturing a strong pipeline of Vietnamese talent and positioning Vietnam as a tech powerhouse on the global stage,” said Mdm. Chu Thi Thanh Ha.

Alongside business success, Mdm. Ha has also been a vocal advocate for gender diversity in the tech industry, inspiring women through her leadership at FPT. Her influence extends beyond FPT and is featured at various events, such as the Swinburne Vietnam Women in Technology Forum and the Vietnam Women’s Union, where she continues to promote the role of women in technology and business.

Embracing the philosophy of taking the company’s employees as its core, Mdm. Ha’s management approach also earned FPT Software several recognitions such as, Asia’s Best Place to Work, Best Company to Work for in Asia, and Great Place to Work, with one-third of employees and manager levels being female.

“It is an honor to recognize this year’s Hall of Honor inductees, whose achievements exemplify the spirit of excellence that Shidler College has fostered for 75 years,” said Shidler College Dean Vance Roley. “These distinguished alumni have not only excelled in their respective fields but have also contributed significantly to their communities and demonstrated steadfast support for our college.”

Throughout her career, Mdm. Ha’s contributions to Vietnam’s IT sector have been widely recognized. As the former Chairwoman of FPT Telecom, she played a pivotal role in making the company one of Vietnam’s leading telecommunications and Internet services providers. In 2012, she was one of a few individuals to receive the Certificate of Merit from the Vietnamese Prime Minister for her work in the country’s Internet development. Forbes also named her one of Vietnam’s 50 most powerful businesswomen in 2017 and among Vietnam’s top 20 professional female managers in 2022.

The Hall of Honor Awards is the premier event celebrating outstanding alumni who exemplify leadership, professional success, and community contributions. It is also a fundraising event for student programs, scholarships, faculty research, alumni outreach, and special programs.
