Accompanying the Minister were representatives from Bappenas and major Indonesian businesses including Japfa Group, Indika Group, Nutricell, Prasetia Dwidharrma, and BRI Ventures.

The delegation was received by Dr. Truong Gia Binh, FPT Founder & Chairman, Mr. Nguyen Khai Hoan, FPT Software SEVP - COO & CFO, FPT Corporation, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tung, FPT Software Indonesia CEO, FPT Corporation, and other FPT executives. This visit marks a significant step in strengthening the collaboration between Vietnam and Indonesia in digital transformation, following the two nations' recently upgraded comprehensive strategic partnership.

The two sides held in-depth discussions to explore new areas of cooperation, focusing on areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), semiconductors, and young talent development. During the meeting, FPT Chairman highlighted the key factors for national transformation: data, AI, chips, diplomacy, and especially human development. He mentioned the transformation initiatives in Vietnam with the ultimate goal of enhancing people’s welfare and explained FPT’s role in accelerating digital transformation from provincial to national levels. “With a solid foundation in technology and decades of practical experience, we are committed to sharing our knowledge and work together with Indonesia to achieve similar milestones of success,” said Dr. Binh.

Echoing the sentiment, the Minister praised the resilience and spirit of the Vietnamese people and FPT in reference to Indonesia’s call for innovation and complete revolution across industries. “What’s in your mind and your heart is what we need for Indonesia today,” he said, stating that FPT is the “game changer” he needs to accompany the new digital transformation era in Indonesia.

A highlight of the dialogue was the proposal to establish a joint working group involving government, businesses, and experts to build a semiconductor ecosystem and accelerate Indonesia’s digital transformation efforts across several aspects. Mr. Arsjad Rasjid, Chairman of the Indonesian Business Council (IBC) emphasized the importance of chips in enabling many other areas such as electric vehicles and ESG. He expressed Indonesia’s aspiration to establish a chip ecosystem through collaboration with neighboring countries. “We are very impressed by what you have done, not only the technology but also people…We want to work especially with Vietnam on this”, he said, reaffirming a joint working group would be an ideal initiative to facilitate these efforts.

The delegation also discussed collaboration opportunities with FPT to develop training programs to nurture future-ready skilled talents. As Vietnam’s pioneering technology corporation, FPT has been focusing on education to develop a robust talent pipeline for advanced technology areas such as AI and semiconductors to support both Vietnam’s workforce and global demand.

The visit builds on several successful partnerships between FPT and Indonesian partners. Notably, FPT recently signed a framework agreement with Indonesia's leading cooperative for innovation KMP Aryadhana to promote the adoption of advanced technologies in five years. It also provides advanced AI solutions to Indonesia’s largest oil company Pertamina. Since entering Indonesia in 2017, the company has been accelerating digital transformation for top enterprises in energy, banking and finance, and telecommunications since entering Indonesia nearly a decade ago. It now has 200 technology specialists working from two major offices in Indonesia, and a third office planned to open this year.
