FPT Propels Enterprise-Scale AI and Resilient Transformation for Japanese Businesses at Halong Sapphire Summit 2026

FPT recently hosted the Halong Sapphire Summit 2026, an exclusive event convening more than 300 executives and technology experts from industry leaders, including Microsoft, Itochu Corporation, Mitsui Bussan Secure Directions, NEC Nexsolutions, and Furuno Electric, and more. The summit centered on enabling Japanese enterprises to execute a resilience-first transformation by scaling Artificial Intelligence (AI) across their core operations. Through a series of thought leadership keynotes, panel discussions, and a technology exhibition, the event covered innovative solutions and collaborative models designed to elevate AI from isolated productivity gains to enterprise-wide business capability.

As global shifts continue to reshape trade and supply chains, AI has emerged as a crucial enhancer of both human capability and national strengths. Emphasizing this synergy, Chu Thi Thanh Ha, FPT Software Chairwoman, FPT Corporation, said: “Japan is known for devotion, expertise, and the spirit of Kaizen. AI does not replace these strengths. While AI adoption has become universal, creating measurable business value across an entire organization remains a major challenge. According to Japan’s Ministry of Finance, while 75% of Japanese companies utilize AI in some capacity, only around 20% apply it to advanced, high-value operations. Simultaneously, Japanese enterprises are facing pressures from digital talent shortage, ageing legacy IT systems, and growing cybersecurity vulnerabilities. The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) reports that approximately 60% of current IT systems in Japan have been in operation for over 20 years, and forecasts a shortfall of up to 800,000 IT professionals by 2030.

Addressing these challenges requires end-to-end legacy modernization, integrated governance, and robust infrastructure. To achieve true resilience, businesses are increasingly prioritizing sovereign AI, ensuring total control over their data and infrastructure to secure a long-term competitive edge.

In partnership with FPT, Takenaka turned construction data and domain expertise into scalable use cases, governance models, and agent-driven value.
