The partnership will advance talent development through FPT TalentSphere, FPT's Global Internship & Talent Development Program. Under the initiative, FPT will provide internship opportunities and industry exposure for University of Sydney students, while the university will identify and recommend qualified candidates. The program aims to equip students with practical experience and global career readiness through real-world technology projects and workplace immersion.
Simultaneously, the two organizations will collaborate on research in artificial intelligence, technology, media, and communications. By combining FPT's industry expertise, business insights, and application environments with USYD's academic excellence and research capabilities, the partners will explore joint research projects, publications, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
"The future of innovation will be shaped by how effectively industry and academia come together to solve real-world challenges and prepare the next generation of talent. Through this partnership with the University of Sydney, we are creating a bridge between research and application, enabling students, researchers, and businesses to collaborate in transforming emerging technologies into meaningful impact for society and the economy," said Prajith Nair, FPT Software Senior Vice President and Head of Learning and Innovation, FPT Corporation.
"This partnership is about building bridges between different areas of expertise and bringing them together to solve shared challenges. By combining FPT Software's technological strengths with the University of Sydney's humanities perspective, we create new opportunities for research, talent development, innovation, and meaningful impact on society," said Jonathon Hutchinson, Associate Professor of Online Media and Communication, University of Sydney.
The MoU builds on a series of engagements between the two organizations, including discussions at the University of Sydney campus and participation in the Vietnam-Australia Tech Connect Forum held in Sydney in August 2026. As the first formal partnership between the two parties, the alliance establishes a foundation for long-term collaboration while supporting broader efforts to strengthen technology training, research, and innovation ties between Vietnam and Australia.
