The partnership signing ceremony between FPT and SAMICK THK took place in Hanoi, Vietnam

FPT and Korea-based smart factory solution provider SAMICK THK have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to drive the future of smart manufacturing. The collaboration focuses on joint development and commercialization of next-generation digital solutions, market expansion and talent development in robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) fields.

The partnership brings together FPT’s core competencies in AI and digital transformation, and SAMICK THK’s deep expertise in precision machinery and robotics. FPT will spearhead the development and application of cutting-edge AI technologies, such as predictive maintenance and vision inspection, while developing Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), control systems, and smart manufacturing platforms. SAMICK THK will provide equipment and infrastructure for automation, precision machinery, and manufacturing, and will oversee the onsite implementation and production line setup of these solutions.

Beyond technological development, FPT will act as the principal System Integration (SI) partner, leveraging its extensive network to facilitate SAMICK THK’s expansion into the Southeast Asian market, including Vietnam. The two companies also aim to collaborate in bridging the critical skills gap in robotics, AI, and smart factory technologies for both countries.

“In the evolving era of industrial digital transformation, an AI-first approach will be a key driver for resilience and competitive edge. By integrating our strong expertise in AI and robotics, FPT and SAMICK THK are accelerating operational efficiency and scale for our clients, and cultivating future tech talent for the industry,” said Ha Minh Tuan, FPT Korea CEO, FPT Corporation.

Recently celebrating 10 years of operations in South Korea, FPT has solidified its status as the leading Vietnamese IT enterprise in the region and a trusted digital partner for major corporations across sectors, including LG Electronics, LG CNS, Shinsegae I&C, Shinhan Bank, and GS Engineering. Backed by a strong footprint across Seoul, Daegu, and Pangyo, the company has grown its workforce of more than 300 on-site experts and nearly 3,000 offshore engineers serving the market, with strong traction in automotive software, SAP, ERP, and low-code services.
